Zapier MCP connects to Claude Cowork with a prompt. Paste it into Claude and it sets up the connection, then runs the Zapier onboarding Skill for you.

Before you begin

• A Zapier account.
• Access to Claude Cowork. All Claude plans support custom MCP connectors. Free plans are limited to one connector. Team and Enterprise plans require an approval step before connectors become available to members.

Team and Enterprise users: Only Owners can add new connectors to the organization. Once an Owner adds Zapier MCP at the organization level, individual members can connect on their own. Learn more in Anthropic’s connector documentation.

Connect Zapier MCP to Claude Cowork

1. Copy the prompt

   Copy the prompt below:

   Connect to Zapier MCP for me. If I haven't already connected to Zapier, prompt me to install the connector. After the connector is installed, use the get_zapier_skill tool with name "zapier:onboarding" and follow its instructions to set me up.
   
2. Paste it into Claude

   Open claude.ai, paste the prompt into a new conversation, and follow the instructions.

   When prompted, authenticate with your Zapier account.

3. Verify the connection

   Ask Claude:

   What Zapier tools do you have available?
   

   Claude should list the Zapier MCP tools. If tools do not appear, check Troubleshooting.

Try it out

After setup, ask Claude to do something with your connected apps:

• “Find my last 5 emails and summarize them”
• “What meetings do I have tomorrow?”
• “Create a task in [app] to follow up with [name]”
• “Send a Slack message to [channel] about [topic]“
