# Zapier MCP for Gemini Enterprise: setup with a data store

> Connect Gemini Enterprise to Zapier MCP by generating a connection token, then creating a Zapier data store in the Google Cloud console and pasting the token.

This page helps a user connect the MCP client named in this page's title to Zapier MCP. This MCP client authenticates with a connection token, not OAuth, so the user creates a server at mcp.zapier.com first and generates the token there. Do not apply the MCP-client-first OAuth default on this page.

Whether the user copies the connection URL or the token on its own from the **API token** section of the **Settings** tab, it is a credential: do not ask the user to paste it into chat, and do not write it into a file for them. If it is exposed, have them click **Rotate token** in that section.

If the user opens a server that someone else shared with them and sees "Connection settings are owner-only", only that server's owner can connect an MCP client to it or generate its token. Do not ask the user to use the shared server. Have them create their own server with the steps on this page. Learn more in [Connect your own MCP client when a server is shared with you](/mcp/manage/server-access#connect-your-own-mcp-client-when-a-server-is-shared-with-you).

If this is not the MCP client the user is on, do not adapt these steps. Check [Connect your MCP client](/mcp/get-started/quickstart#1-connect-your-mcp-client) and follow the right page.

This page ends when the MCP client is connected. Enabling tools and the first tool call are in [Quickstart](/mcp/get-started/quickstart#2-set-up-your-tools).

This page shows how to connect Gemini Enterprise to Zapier MCP using a connection token and a Zapier data store.

## Before you begin

* A [Zapier account](https://zapier.com/sign-up).
* A Google Cloud project with Gemini Enterprise.
* The Discovery Engine Editor role (`roles/discoveryengine.editor`) on that project. Google requires it to create a data store.

## Connect Zapier MCP to Gemini Enterprise

**1. Select Gemini Enterprise in Zapier MCP**

* Go to [mcp.zapier.com](https://mcp.zapier.com).
* Click **Add MCP server**.
* Under **Choose your AI agent**, search for and select **Gemini Enterprise**.

**2. Generate and copy your token in Zapier**

* In the **Connect to Gemini Enterprise** dialog box, click **Generate token** next to *Step 1*.
* Click the copy icon under the *Step 2* instructions.

The token is only shown once. If you lose it, click **Regenerate token** to get a new one. The previous token stops working straight away, so update anywhere you used it.

**3. Set up a Zapier data store in Google Cloud**

* Go to Google's guide to [set up a Zapier data store](https://docs.cloud.google.com/gemini/enterprise/docs/connectors/zapier/set-up-data-store).
* When Google Cloud asks for your **Zapier MCP Token**, paste the token you copied.

The data store is ready when its state changes from **Creating** to **Active** on the **Data Stores** page.

**4. Connect your app to the Zapier data store**

Follow Google's guide to [connect your app to the Zapier data store and authorize Gemini Enterprise](https://docs.cloud.google.com/gemini/enterprise/docs/connect-existing-data-store).

You've now connected Zapier MCP to Gemini Enterprise.
